Seishindo: (Seishin: 精神 せいしん mind, soul, heart, spirit, intention), (Do: 道 どう The Way) Together, these translate into "Way of the Mind" which is the understanding of the conscious thought that goes into formulating an action as well as the subconscious understanding of how action can deceive us in battle.

When "Seishindo" 精神 せいしん 道 どう is joined together with "Kenpo" 拳法 けんぽう, the Chinese art of self-defense, "Fist Law", it becomes a sophisticated form of self-protection encompassing advanced Concepts, Principles and Ideas of motion. Frank Landers referred to it as his developing art form, or System "Seishindo Kenpo" first came to life in 1980.

To achieve Seishindo Kenpo you must find harmony between physical action, body conditioning and understanding of motion in combat. Physical fighting skill is only part of the student’s total development.

The understanding of Concepts, Principles and Ideas of motion and the development of the minds thoughts as it applies to action, will complete the martial artist’s training.
